The University of Brighton

The University of Brighton which is formerly known as Brighton Polytechnic, is considered to be a multi-site university which is located in the Brighton and Hove city in England. Three following places are occupied by the University of Brighton. The educational institution was established in 1968 as Brighton Polytechnic. It was established due to the merging of the following institutions: Brighton College of Technology and Brighton College of Art. In 1976, the Polytechnic started to grow due to the merging of Brighton College of Education. In 1979, the East Sussex College of Higher Education at Eastbourne was also incorporated. And only in 1992 the University of Brighton received the status of the university. Nowadays, the following schools and faculties are serving for the choice of the applicants: Faculty of Arts and Architecture: o School of Historical and Critical Studies o School of Arts and Communication o School of Architecture and Design Faculty of education and Sport: o Centre for Learning and Teaching o School of Language, Literature and Communication o School of Education o Chelsea School Faculty of Health and Social Science:
o Institute of Postgraduate Medicine (part of Brighton and Sussex Medical School)
o School of Nursing and Midwifery o School of Health Professions o School of Applied Social Science
Faculty of management and Information Sciences: o School of Computing, Mathematical and Information Sciences o Centre for Research in Innovation Management o School of Service Management o Brighton Business School Faculty of Science and Engineering: School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences
