Chairman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation

Chairman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation
Leila El Solh is the Lebanese vice chairman of the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation. Born in Beirut in 1946, she is the daughter of Riad Al Solh, who served as the first prime minister of Lebanon after the country’s independence. He was known as one of the most important personalities in Lebanon’s struggle for independence, and was generally regarded as the person who would be able to unify Lebanon’s various religious groups in the country’s long and often violent struggle for independence. Politics appears to run in the family, as El Solh was also her country’s first female minister.
